Finally Done

I am done with my first semester of college! It has been very hard but I made an A in both classes. I took the summer off because one of the classes I need is not available in a 15 week course so I will take it in the fall. I have to drive to Deland for the math and pshycology is online. I am ready to have the summer break to be able to handle the many things the kids are doing for the summer! I think fall will be more challenging because Brooke starts middle school and we have fair but I guess I will work it out.

What were we thinking!

We decided that Ashlyn is 6 and probably needs to learn her phone # for saftey reasons. I sat her down and told her that she needed to learn her phone # just in case she got lost or needed us for any reason. She sat down and wrote it over and over to remember it. Im thinking most people do this, teach their child their phone #? Well what were we thinking! Ashlyn goes to school and gives all her kindergarten friends her phone # and now miss popular has the phone ringing off the hook! She has a friend that has called all day. Ashlyn talked to her for a little while and then it was time to get off. That little girl didn't like that so she called every 5 minutes for hours. I went to a meeting and walked in the door at 9:15 and she is still calling! Tony calls the # back and thinks he talked to the mom and she just says,"she doesn't understand that she can't call". Really!!!! The kid should be in bed! So I just got off the phone with phone company and I am going to have to block the #. Crazy!!!! Im hoping I can survive Ashlyn!

Finally!

Ashlyn finally had her surgery to remove the extra tooth! For those of you who don't know, Ashlyn had an extra tooth inside her gums that would never come down and were keeping her front teeth from coming in. They have been planning this surgery for a couple years now. The last three scheduled surgries have been cancelled because she was sick so it finally is over now. He was originally going to have to cut through the roof of her mouth but he ended up removing 4 front teeth and going through were her teeth were to remove the extra tooth. She did really well in recovery, never cried! This picture was taken in the car on the way home! Today is the morning after and so far she is still pain free. Im very relieved it all went so well and that it is over!

My New Car!

Well its not brand new but new to me! Its a 2009 Kia Rio. With the gas prices going up, we really needed a gas efficient vehicle. The truck was costing me $100 a week to drive around town and that just wasn't working. Its a big change for me to go from my big truck to this little car but after driving it for almost a week, I am getting used to it. I filled it up last wednesday for $28 and still have a half a tank! Its great!!!!!!!

Big Surprise!

Gabby had a baby! Total shock to us because we didn't know she was pregnant. I went out on Sunday morning to feed everyone and found Gabby in labor. I called Nicole and had her come over at 7 AM! I was not doing this on my own. It was very upsetting because a couple hours into it we relized the baby was turned sideways and couldn't come out. Nicole tried to get it out but could only get one leg. We then started calling vets but the ones I could get a hold of didnt do goats and the others just wouldn't answer. My horse vet finally called back and said to bring her in. She had to do a csection on her. Momma and baby are doing good right now but Gabby is on antibiotics to fight infection. If she makes it a week she will most likely survive this ordeal. Im exhausted and tired of animals! Im just hoping I get a break before the next ordeal occurs!

Baby Chick

On top of our new puppy, we have a new baby chick! One of Brooke's friends brought it to us on Sunday night. It is the same breed as Butterscotch chicken that Ashlyn has. Brooke wanted one too so now she has one. The breeder only had one. Nicole went to the feed store to try and get another baby for it but they didn't have any. We had to give it a stuffed bunny as a friend. Im hoping that it will be ok and grow up real fast! Most importantly, I hope it is a girl!

New Puppy

Here is our new addition to the family. Her name is Leah. She is such a sweet little puppy. She is an Australian Shepherd like Wyatt but a different color. We were so sad about Wyatt that we needed some happiness back in our house. She definately brings that! She has been really good. She sleeps in her crate at night and only crys when she needs to go out. Right now she goes out a couple times a night but its not bad. Its like having a baby again! Hopefully we have 14 great years with this little girl as we did with Wyatt!
